• CANADIAN & WORLD ISSUES
    This course draws on geographic concepts, skills, methods, and technologies to analyze significant issues facing Canadians as citizens of an interdependent world.Students will examine the challenges of creating a sustainable and equitable future through the study of a range of topics, including interdependence, geopolitical conflict, regional disparities in the ability to meet basic human needs, and protection of the planet’s life support systems.

  • Welcome to grade 9 GEOGRAPHY!

  • TreesThis course investigates the complexity and fragility of ecosystems and the pressures human activities place on them. Students will examine ecological processes, the principles of sustainability, and strategies for resource management, with a focus on the challenges of environmental degradation and resource depletion. Students will use geotechnologies and skills of geographic inquiry to explain and evaluate various approaches to achieving a more sustainable relationship between people and their environment.



  • Welcome to the Grade 11 Physical Geographys course. We study the Earth's systems, the atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere, and cryosphere. Topics covered include: climate (climate change,tornadoes, hurricanes, El Nino), biomes, plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, rocks, minerals and more. The highlight is a 3 day field trip to Bancroft, ON the "Mineral Capital of Canada." While there we will collect rock and mineral samples and then complete a project using the samples.
